LEBOXING

A NEW APPROACH TO ACHIEVING YOUR FITNESS GOALS

Text Box: Before reading the list of LEBOXING Approved Supplements, we want to stress one very important fact: Nothing compares to the benefits of consuming fresh, natural food. The majority of your vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats should all come from regular meals.   Supplements should only be used when you don't have the time or means to put together a real meal. So do your best to get your nutrients from Natural Food first.
Unfortunately, the reality of today, is that we all lead very busy lives. Not many people have the time to cook and put together 5 to 6 meals a day, so this is when the use of supplements is recommended.
Disclaimer: Always consult with your Physician before taking any new supplements and always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using them.
LEBOXING Approved Supplements
1.) Fish Oil (Omega 3) — This is one particular supplement that everyone, regardless of age or activity level, should take because it is typically missing from the North American diet. Fish oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that help balance insulin levels and have been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes. For general health & well being make sure you are taking this supplement. The specific brand we recommend is Carlson's Fish Oil.
2.) Fruit and Vegetable Based Supplements — It is very hard to get 6 to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day without supplementing. For fruit supplementation, we recommend Juice+ branded products because of the many healthful benefits that have been demonstrated through numerous independent clinical research studies around the world.
Greens+ is our brand of choice for vegetable supplementations because it contains a concentrated blend of powdered vegetables that is easy to prepare (please see our super shake recipe in the recipe section). It has been laboratory tested and is one of the highest award winning supplements on the market.
3.) Protein Supplements — Among the various protein supplements available, we have found the most success with powdered, whey-based protein supplements. As we stated above, your primary protein sources should come from natural food sources (chicken, beef, fish etc.). Incorporate protein supplements into your diet when you don’t have time to prepare a natural meal. The specific brands we recommend are Dorian Yates Approved Pro Peptide or Met RX Protein Plus.

4.) After a workout, Glutamine is drawn from the muscle tissue, causing you to become more prone to soreness and slower recovery. Glutamine supplementation can assist in the recovery process and counteract the drop in muscle protein synthesis. Glutamine has also been shown to improve immune system function and to neutralize lactic acid that is generated from physical exercise. Usually taken right after a hard workout, this is a great supplement that improves recovery time and reduces soreness. We recommend this supplement for those who are very active and those who push themselves extremely hard in their exercises. If your having issues with recovery consider taking this. The specific brand we recommend is AST's GL3 L-Glutamine.
5.) Creatine — Creatine is an amino acid found primarily in muscle tissue. By boosting creatine levels, energy production and anaerobic strength is enhanced. Creatine will cause your muscles to swell and will lead to increased protein synthesis, muscle glycogen storage, and muscle size. It also has been shown to have amazing regenerative effects on all tissues of the body, including the brain. Creatine has been laboratory tested for the last 12 years with no side effects. Elite athletes all over the world use this supplement with amazing results. We don't recommend this supplement for everyone, but if you are looking to step up your performance to the next level, we highly recommend its usage. The specific brand we recommend is AST's Micronized Creatine.
