LEBOXING TRAINING SYSTEM WORKOUTS

LEBOXING

A NEW APPROACH TO ACHIEVING YOUR FITNESS GOALS

When people first get started in our program, I always tell them there are 3 major things to remember when getting started:

1 - Check yourself — Always get a physical from your doctor to make sure your body is capable of beginning a new fitness program

2 - Listen to your body — Discomfort from hard work is ok; sharp pain from doing an exercise incorrectly or working out with an injury is not ok.  If you feel any sharp pains, immediately discontinue the exercise you are doing and have yourself checked out.  The quality of the way you exercise is much more important than the quantity; make sure you are using proper form in all of your exercise movements. Working out slower, with good form, is much more beneficial than working out fast, with erratic movements that can cause injury.

3 - Start slowly — Do not let your ego become involved when exercising. Stay at the fitness level that your body is ready for because trying to do too much in the beginning does more harm than good. You want to be like a locomotive train that slowly builds up speed, not a race car that goes from zero to sixty in your first workout.

Remember!! When first starting out, the body will become sore, which is the body’s way of communicating to you that it’s been overloaded and needs time to heal.  Give yourself the necessary time to become adjusted to exercising and make sure you are eating correctly to support healing & maintenance (see our nutrition section for more info).

Workout Categories:

Everyone has a different level of fitness. We advise our clients to err on the side of caution and do less then more. Below are 3 workout categories to choose your exercises from. Remember no ego. Pick the exercises for your honest fitness level.

Beginner - (Out of shape - The body needs to be slowly brought up to speed)

Intermediate - (Staring to feel good - The body will start to be pushed)

Advanced - (In the groove - The body will be pushed to its maximum levels)

Equipment:

The LEBOXING exercises listed on the website have been specially designed for times when you cannot attend group classes; each workout can be performed at home or when  traveling.  With this in mind, we developed effective exercises that require minimal equipment.  The only piece of equipment you will need for some of the exercises is a Jump Rope; however, if you find yourself without one, you can substitute Jumping Jacks in place of the Jump Rope.
